This afternoon I landed in Phoenix to spend the weekend with my marketing group. On the plane ride over this morning I met a gent sitting next to me and we struck up a conversation. Turns out he was also traveling on business, and he works for a company that specializes in career building. Needless to say - in this economy - he's been one busy guy.
But he said that because of the economy, things have really changed around a lot for him.
I asked him how so. He said most of his clients previously had come to his company looking to build or rebuild their careers, but now, the biggest thing they care about is just finding some sort of employment. A job - any job. After all - when the media states it's good news and a "sign of improvement" that the US only lost 345,000 jobs in May 2009 - you know things are bad.
You may be wondering what this means to you. I spoke with this gentleman on the subject of jobs and careers for quite some time. So let me ask you something. In your mind, is working in the pawn shop for you a job or a career? Allow me to explain the difference. Sure, they both describe work, but a job is something you have to do. A career is something you want to do.
That's why people who have jobs are often dissatisfied and why people who have careers are much more content. And being a pawnshop employee can be a highly gratifying career. That is - if you allow it to be. Pawnbroking gives you a practically unlimited source of areas to become an expert. Finance - human nature - unique merchandise - and many other areas most people will never experience.
But it's what you do every day.
And that's what I want you to understand in this message. If you feel that working in a pawn shop is nothing more than a job - well, quite frankly, you're cheating yourself. Experienced pawnshop workers who view their craft as a career are in high demand. Not only that, but there's so much more to learn by viewing your pawnshop employment as a career. The education never ends - and you get paid for it.
But the education for you - the pawnshop employee - can also be much greater. This is the reason I created the Pawn Shop Performer(tm) coaching program, http://www.pawnshopperformer.com/ and my commitment to you is that the information in the Pawn Shop Performer(tm) will transform your pawnbroking career into the best career you can possibly have. And in record time.
Considering the tough times out there, there's never been a better time to consider building your career. And building it to become more successful as a pawnbroker has never been easier than with the Pawn Shop Performer(tm) coaching program http://www.pawnshopperformer.com/ It's your time to shine - and besides - it sure beats having a job.
